Celebrating the incredible life of Wendy is something that we will be doing every day. As we say in Farsi: “One whose heart is ignited by love, shall never die.”  And that is so true, because those we love deeply become a part of us and continue to live in our hearts and memories.

From the very first moment of meeting Wendy, I knew I had found a friend for life, and as I got to know her better, a role model. Her genuine kindness, warm spirit, wisdom and graceful vigour will forever be cherished in my memory. I will always treasure the unique bond we shared, filled with countless conversations, shared books (some of which I had the honour of translating into Farsi!), and more importantly, a deep understanding that transcended words.

Beyond our friendship, Wendy was a loving and supportive mother-in-law and close friend to my daughter, Shadi. Her presence in Shadi's life brought immense joy, and comfort to us, the loss of which will be a dreadful void.

In our present deep sorrow, we might think we have lost our beloved Wendy, but the happy memories she has left us will continue to live with us as long as we shall live, even though it hurts that her heart-warming presence is going to be sadly missed.

To my dear Pontin family, please accept our sincerest sympathies during this difficult time. Our thoughts are with you.
