Thoughts

We’re all saddened and sorry about Wendy’s passing, and we extend our sincere thoughts and condolences to her large and wonderful family. Years ago, we got to know Wendy through Joe and Simon, but after many of her visits to the US and our trip to Wilby/Banham, we got acquainted with her in our own right. It was a pleasure for Mauna Ree and me to sit down with her to chat about how she and her family were getting along in England, amongst other things. Every visit, I couldn’t help asking her about her infamous local “newsletter” that she oversaw, knowing it would get her going (in a good way) a bit. Our conversations were fun, thoughtful, and easy; we looked forward to them whenever she visited. We’ll miss Wendy but will remember her fondly, and every time Sully, Coco, Mauna Ree, or I have a twice-baked potato, we’ll think of Wendy and her ‘boats’ which were enjoyed by everyone!

I am very grateful I got to know Wendy. I smile when I think of her. She was so much fun and full of positive energy. She had a gift in making everyone around her feel comfortable and at ease. She could settle a room with her presence.

“To love is to remember. Hoping you will find some comfort in the warm memories your heart will always hold on to.”… We pray that the hole left in your hearts will soon be replaced by the wonderful memories you have of Simon’s mum. We are truly saddened to hear of Wendy passing. With heartfelt sympathy.
